Great with our seitan ham. Here’s why you’ll love it:

Tastes Better Than Store-Bought

One of the main advantages of making your own homemade vegan butter is the superior taste. This homemade spread is creamier and more flavorful than most store-bought options, making it a delightful addition to your meals.

Cost-Effective

Depending on where you live, making your own vegan butter can save you money. By purchasing ingredients in bulk, you can enjoy high-quality butter without breaking the bank.

Customizable

One of the best parts of making your own vegan butter is the ability to customize it to suit your taste. Add herbs, garlic, or nutritional yeast for a savory twist.

Easy to Make

This recipe is straightforward and requires minimal equipment. With just a pot, a bowl, and a mixer, you can whip up a batch in no time. Plus, it stores well in the fridge, so you always have a delicious homemade vegan butter spread on hand.

Why I Created This Recipe

I found it hard to find good, spreadable vegan butter that didn’t come with a hefty price tag. The only ones I liked were super expensive, so I decided to try reverse engineering my favorite. After some trial and error, I tweaked the recipe to perfection, and this is the result. It’s affordable, easy to make, and tastes amazing!

  • Looking for a delicious and easy-to-make vegan butter spread? Perfect for your morning toast, this creamy and flavorful spread is entirely plant-based. Here’s how you can make your own vegan butter spread at home.
  • Ingredients:
  • 250 grams coconut fat (you can substitute with the same amount of coconut oil if needed)
  • 3.5 deciliters rapeseed oil
  • 1.5 teaspoons salt
  • Approximately 1 deciliter oat cream for cooking
  • Water
  • Instructions:
  • Start by melting 250 grams of coconut fat in a pot over low heat until it is completely liquid.
  • Pour the melted coconut fat and 3.5 deciliters of rapeseed oil into a large bowl.
  • Let the fat mixture cool down until it is slightly hardened but still stirable.
  • You can place the bowl in the freezer for about 25-30 minutes to speed up the process.
  • While the fat mixture is cooling, boil approximately 20 milliliters of water.
  • Dissolve 1.5 teaspoons of salt in the boiling water, stirring a few times to ensure all the salt is fully dissolved.
  • Once the salt is dissolved, add enough oat cream to the saltwater to make a total of 1 deciliter of the water/salt/oat cream mixture.
  • Once the fat mixture has cooled, add the oat cream mixture to it.
  • Use a mixer to beat the mixture until it becomes fluffy and smooth, without any lumps.
  • Transfer the mixture to a bowl with a lid.
  • Store it in the refrigerator. It should be ready to use on your toast in about an hour.
