Ingredients

  • 1 liter dry soy mince (dry textured soy protein)

  • 1/2 liter water

  • 1/2 bouillon cube

  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce

  • 1/2 teaspoon cumin

  • 1/2 tablespoon thyme

  • 1/2 tablespoon oregano

  • 1/2 tablespoon onion powder

  • 2 tablespoons potato starch

  • 1 tablespoon breadcrumbs

  • 2 tablespoons grated beetroot

Directions

  • In a large pot, bring 1/2 liter of water to a boil. Add the bouillon cube and stir until dissolved. Then, add soy sauce, cumin, thyme, oregano, and onion powder. And the soy mince. Mix well.
  • let simmer on medium heat for a few minutes under a lid until the textured soy mince is softened.
  • Add Binding Ingredients; Incorporate the potato starch, breadcrumbs, and grated beetroot into the mixture. Stir until all ingredients are well combined. Let the mixture sit for a few minutes to allow the potato starch and breadcrumbs to absorb excess moisture.
  • Form the Patties. Divide the mixture into equal portions and shape each portion into a burger patty. Press the patties firmly to ensure they hold together well.
  • Heat a large non-stick pan or grill over medium heat. Add oil to the surface. Cook the patties for about 5-7 minutes on each side, or until they are browned and crispy on the outside.
  • Serve the burgers on buns with your favorite toppings and condiments.

Notes

  • The beet root is optional, it adds color and supports a juicy texture.
